Guide In Flash Files For Nokia Phones

By Estelle Larsen

There are two kinds of Flashing. Basically, it is just Full and Partial where Full does a whole rewrite to the Operating System and overall structure of the phone to turn into a flashable ROM, or known as Read Only Memory. While the Partial transfer the carrier of the phone to another one through basic reprogramming.

There are different ways to do this for various models and brands of smartphones. So basically, there are flash files for Nokia phones and also from others that you need to download in order to proceed with flashing it. You can look up each model online and have the appropriate files downloaded.

Flashing can either be done by a professional or a non pro but has adequate knowledge. Most likely a person who has done enough research and trials will be able to perform this task properly. If you do not want to incidentally delete all of the files and also the OS of your phone, it is advised to seek help from those who are well informed in the topic. It might end up with just a brick which is completely unusable.

The reason why people do this to their phones is for it to be able to have custom applications or programs to be installed or for it to be able to use a different carrier. Flashing should be done carefully because it might cause damage and inaccessibility of the phone if done casually without even following proper instructions. Follow them in order to prevent damage.

Determine if it is CDMA or GSM. Code Division Multiple Access phones are flashable unlike Global System for Mobile Communications devices. The difference is that the first is not Subscriber Identity Module capable or basically it cannot hold a SIM card. Another thing to make sure is that it should have a clean Electronic Serial Number where it is not reported lost or stolen.

Use the USB cord and attach it to the PC and then download a compatible flashing software. There are tons of them which can also be free as well as making sure that you got the right one. Search properly so you could lessen the risk in damaging it with an incompatible program. Doing a Partial, you need to make sure that the next carrier is also in a CDMA network.

Uncompress the downloaded files and read the instructions that are inside it. Make sure to read them carefully to prevent failure. The process will take fifteen to about twenty minutes. While each device is running on different setups, it is impossible to give details on each one, so here are general ideas you can follow.

Update the drivers of the phone and have it checked by the provider and know what you want to do for the phone which is either the Partial or Full Flash since the program will be prompting you with this. Get the MEID and ESN from the labels underneath the battery. The software should also be able to detect the phone allowing it to read it, then provide the unlock codes depending on the carrier.

It will prompt you to Write and proceed to flashing your phone. The risks are still possible and you should be wary of them when doing this procedure. Warranty will also be voided, and also make sure to get the ESN from the next carrier.
