When we expanded our medical practice, it became my job to make certain that our medical records were not only safe, but we also decided that it would be a good idea to find a better way to store them with some new electronic medical records software. The thing that was most important to us was that we wanted to be able to store these records in a way that would allow any of us who had the proper clearance to access the information from anywhere on our tablet computers.
Since my partners were busy with hiring and dealing with remodeling, I was left pretty much to my own devices to figure out which software would be the most helpful for us. I started by getting online and comparing the various features of the software that I knew was available from my own experiences and after quizzing my colleagues in the medical field.
I found some good information online, but I kept feeling like I was missing some parts of the picture, so I stepped back and did a wider search for electronic medical records software. I was glad that I did, because I found that there actually were some pieces of software that I had been unaware of, and I did some research on them as well, feeling much better about the whole situation.
It turned out that I actually ended up deciding on one of these new programs that I had stumbled upon, as I felt that it would be the perfect solution to our software problems, so I showed it to my partners. My partners took some time to pore over my presentation on the software, and once they all had a good grasp of this piece of software, everyone was in agreement that this would be a positive move for our company.
We started using this software as part of our general medical practice management software and before too long, we were using it with all of our patients, and it was a process that was much more efficient and easy to use than what we had been using before. Several weeks later, we all conferred and agreed that the new software made life much easier and we found that we were serving our patients better than we ever had before, which made us all very happy. The other thing that we all fervently agreed upon was the fact that it was so great to be able to look at patient records from anywhere, and we couldn't even remember how we had survived without it!
