Iphones are one of the hottest tech products to own these days. If you own one, you may not be getting everything from it that you can. Check out these tips to learn more about your device. You may be pleasantly surprised at everything you can do with your iphone and a bit of knowledge.

If you use your iPhone to store huge numbers of contacts, songs, email and websites, you may find it time-consuming to scroll from the end of the list to the beginning. Save time by double-tapping the clock icon at the top of the screen. This will immediately take you to the very top of the list.

Make calls directly from your browser. If you are using your iPhone to look up information and would like to place a call to a number you find, it is not necessary to exit Safari to dial. Simply click on the number, and the phone will dial the number for you.

If you don't have unlimited texting on your phone plan, you need to be careful how many messages you send. Go to Settings and the Message and enable the character count. After about 160 characters in a text message, the message becomes split into two texts. This can help you avoid sending multiple texts by accident.

Take a screenshot. Do you want to show friends a creepy text message your ex just sent you? You can take a quick screenshot whenever you want. Just press your home button, and your on/off switch at the same time. Your screen should flash, and your screenshot will go to your pictures.

Research various iphone applications on your own online. There are so many applications available that you definitely have never heard of them all. If you have an idea of what you would like your iphone to do for you, just look around online to see if there is an application for it, there likely is.

If you use Safari to browse the Internet on your iPhone, try this trick for typing in a new URL. Instead of actually typing out ".com", you can hold down the ".com" button. As you hold the button down, it will scroll through the most popular website extensions, including .org, .net and .edu.

A great tip if you own an iphone is to be very careful about handling it near water. Cell phones and other portable electronic gadgets get ruined all the time by people jumping into a pool, forgetting they had their gadgets in their pockets, or accidentally dropping their phone in the toilet.

If you are considering selling your iPhone, make sure you erase all of its settings and content prior to doing so to protect your privacy. There is a simple way to do this. Click on your iPhone's settings button and enter the General section. At the bottom of this screen is a Reset area where there is a button that allows you to erase everything from your phone, including the settings.

If you get your iPhone wet, do not use a hair dryer to try and save it. In doing so, you are just pushing the moisture further down into the device. You can actually do more damage to your phone this way, as the water can short-circuit the deeper circuitry.

If you are always missing the best photos due to too many iPhone button pushes to get to the camera, get used to accessing the camera via the iPhone's lock screen. Simply slide your finger up on the camera icon and your photo application will immediately open. No more five button pushes and wasted seconds!

You can use an application on the iphone that shows you your pace during your run workouts. You can keep track of your pace with this application and determine if you are making any real progress or not. Try this application out and let it push you to get the most out of your workouts.
