Mobile Optimized Websites Are The Future... Do You Have One?

By Tim Beachum

It's irrelevant if you are a multi-billion dollar corporation or an army of one working from your kitchen table. If you do not have a mobile version of your internet site you are hands down loosing money. In this post I'll explain to you why it is a must for any person who wants to continue conducting business in the digital age.

So many entrepreneurs are to busy working in their enterprises rather than working on their business. Industry experts have expected that by 2014, the mobile sector of the Web will take over desktop web usage. Right now as you are reading this article, one half of all local searches are performed on some sort of mobile gadget.

I you are thinking? Ok Tim? All of that sounds great. However those figures are world wide figures and I am living in the U. S.. Ok? Fair enough. Did you know normally American citizens spend 2.7 hours each day socializing on their smart-phone. That's over twice the amount of time they spend eating, and over one-third of the time they spend sleeping everyday.

Though I think that I have given you enough facts to provide proof that mobile Web use is on the rise, let me give you one more. Let me ask you, who shops more men or women? If you said girls, pat yourself on the back because that's 100% correct. Did you know that women aged 35 to 54 are the most active group in mobile social learning?

As a business owner I give you credit for having a domain. As a successful marketing strategist I'm still surprised by how many companies don't have a domain. Now you need a mobile version of your site. Do not full yourself into believing that your current website looks fine when viewed on a cellphone. Mobile users expect a simplified browsing experience, and fast loading time. Todays mobile users prefer sites to have more of a mobile phone app feel and look. It is something they have come conform to, and it will give you a much higher interaction rate.
